Keep in mind that trading forth and back even in cryptospace only may be taxable in your jurisdiction. e.g. Germany
My guess is that if you kept all resources within STEEM, and did not transfer it between STEEM/BTC that you would not be responsible for taxes...but I am not familiar with German tax laws.
