**Tips To Improve Your Chances Of Selling Products**

in #money7 years ago (edited)

Have you ever posted something online to sell, but no one has contacted you about buying the product?

Here are 4 SIMPLE STEPS to make your posting more attention grabbing.. More attention grabbing means they are MORE INTERESTED in WHAT you have to sell, which in return means they are MORE THAN LIKELY to BUY the product.

Let’s jump right into it…

#1 GOOD-HIGH Quality Photos

First, you want to make sure you have GOOD quality photos of the product. Most people.. Well I’ll speak in terms of myself. I buy used electronics from all sorts of sites and fix them to working condition and resell them for profit, (“One man’s trash is another man’s treasure”) right? I will skip postings that have bad quality photos, WHY? Because why waste my time looking through the post IF I can’t even see the product clearly? Or if its’ blurry or has bad lighting. What if the blurry picture is hiding the crack on the bottom left of an iPhone screen and you bought this product NOT knowing there was a crack on the screen, NOW you have to go through the hassle of returns, shipping and all that mess. That being said, good quality photos are ESSENTIAL to sell the product. AND multiple pictures from different angles are always a PLUS! In this reference, the saying “the more the merrier” applies. ;D

#2 The TITLE

Second step to make your listing more appealing is the TITLE. You want to make sure the title contains the special features that makes your product worth what it is. Like for an example if I want to sell my Mac book, I would state in the title “2016 Model Apple MacBook 512GB GOLD.” Using capital letters for each word in the title seems odd, but in reality its’ actually more appealing to the eyes(Grabs the reader’s attention). And notice I stated special features of the product like the color, year of the model, and the storage capacity. Using Asterisk in the title ALSO helps stand out one of the features of the product. Though keep in mind that Asterisk should not be used more than twice highlighting key features in a title because it will just look like a mess with random asterisk symbols. All capital letters in a word is also a method commonly used by professional/commercial marketers to successfully sell their product.

#3 Description!

The description is one most important part of the listing. Make sure that all the key features of the product are listed here, along with what all comes with the product, (Charger, extra battery etc.) as well as the condition of the product (“Used once,” “ Sat in my closet for months,” “ Received as present and didn’t need it,” “ Broken selling for parts.” Etc. When listing the key features and what comes with it, the best way to write it is with BULLET POINTS. Cannot stress this enough, Bullet points are so important because they organize it and make it look so much neater! Here is an example below.

Example Description

I have for sale a 2016 Gold Model Apple MacBook for sale. It has 512GB of storage capacity and it is in great condition. NO Scratches on it at all. (Or if your product is fairly scuffed up then you would say…) Very light scratches on the top right of the screen, but NOT visible when the screen is on. I have had it since August of 2016 and used lightly for schooling and general browsing.
BELOW ITEMS ARE INCLUDED :
• 2016 Gold Apple MacBook 512GB

#4 PRICING $$$

LAST STEP in making your listing stand out is the PRICE. You don’t want to sell a product for the price in which you bought it for, often you won’t get it for that price unless the product is unopened or of that nature. Before you make a posting, do some research and look at the prices of other listings similar to your product, considering their condition and what it comes with as well. Making the price slightly lower than your competitors will always make your product an easier option to work with. Along with the original listing price, you want to include whether you’re flexible on the price (Sites like Craigslist, OfferUp etc. are ideal for this option because they are local and will most likely negotiate) or if you’re selling on a site like EBay, to include a “Make an Offer” option for the buyer, so they can toss out their price they’re willing to pay for the product. (EBay offers the ability to automatically turn down offers if they are lower than a set price.)
