And to be fair, yes, work-at-home scams do exist and you should be aware of them. Warning signs include: paying a fee before you can start making money, doing any amount of work for free to prove your abilities, and being paid through unconventional services.
Not only that, but out of all the legitimate job offers on the Internet, most of them are crap. For example, a lot of content mills will only pay $5 or $10 per article.
However, if you know where to look and what to avoid, you really can find legitimate forms of online employment. You’ll have to sift through a lot of crap to find the opportunities worth pursuing, but with a bit of perseverance and motivation, the gems will eventually present themselves.

Online has an incredible potential of making fantastic money for anyone! In my opinion, online employment should not be the goal though! This is similar to the mentality of working a corporate 9-5 job, only you're doing it at your convenience at your home. It's a better strategy to think like a creator, not like a consumer. Put out value into the world by creating a digital product. An e-book, an online course, templates, a wordpress theme, graphics packs, etc etc etc, there's thousands of options and this will make far more money then trying to find an online business that pays out money for completing a task/job for them.
This platform for example is a great example. Provide value in the market by creating content that people love!
