In order to make money on steemit, you need to post a lot. Make sure to write about something that you know a lot about, don't just post something that you think will make you a lot of money. People would rather read something written by you that is based on something that you know, not random facts that do not flow together that don't mean anything because you do not have any knowledge on it. Make sure to put a lot of tags on your posts. The more tags that you put on a post, the more likely you are for someone to view your post and add some comments onto it. Put some pictures and make you blog post your own, some people enjoy reading posts from the same person so put some of your style into your posts, make it your own. Make your posts cute and clever.
