Purchasing DASH X11 Mining Contracts (ROI Calculation Included)
Good Morning Steemians,
A couple of days ago i resteemed a post of @craig-grant talking about Genesis Mining bringing back the DASH X11 mining contracts.
So To calculate our ROI(return on investment) and the risk/reward ratio:
Let's start off with the supposing that the price and the difficulty are going to stay the same (which is never the case)
According to CryptoCompare
For a $30 investment (5mh/s) our ROI is $30/$4.9=6.12 months
But Since i'm going to be using an affiliate code when purchasing the contract my initial investment would be equal to $30*0.97=$29.1 and my ROI would be $29.1/$4.9=5.93 months
Now To get some closer ROI calculations we need to add in Difficulty estimations :
So according to this chart on CoinWarz
The difficulty on : March=109k , April=125k, May=144k, Juin=228k
Difficulty Increase Percentages: March-to-April: 125k/109k=%14, April-to-May=144k/125k=%15, May-to-Juin=228k/144k=%58
Average Monthly Difficulty Increase: (%14+%15+%58)/3=%29
In case you didn't know that considering an increase in difficulty and a stable price is the worst case scenario so in this worst case scenario and in 8 months we will have $15.71 back which is %54 from our initial $29.1 investment:
1st month: $4.9, 2nd: $3.47, 3rd: $2.46, 4th: $1.74, 5th: $1.23, 6th: $0.87, 7th: $0.61, 8th: $0.43
And Now let's get another variable into the equation :), giving that the current price is $176 let's assume that you won't be selling any dash until it hits $327 (We need to calculate payouts in DASH) :
1st: 0.02763, 2nd: 0,01961, 3rd: 0,01392, 4th: 0,00988, 5th: 0,00702, 6th: 0,00498, 7th: 0,00353, 8th: 0,00251
a total of 0,08908 DASH * $327 = $29.12 (an 8 month ROI)
Note: that the contract is 2 years long without any maintenance/electricity fee

I'm following you and looking forward to more updates on this. the returns look fairly small and there is a bit of risk, but I'm interested, especially considering the current shortage of GPUs to set up our own mining rigs.
