We should spend what is left after saving/investing, and not the other way around.

Thank you @smaeunabs! Indeed, this idea is the most underrated. If not underrated, it is misunderstood. They think paying yourself first means, buying that shoes you really wanted or eating in that fancy restaurant. I know it is not bad, but that is not paying ourselves first. It is called rewarding ourselves.
