The Watchman Letter: The Lemmings/Speculators & The Deer in the Headlights Investors syndromes

2018 is turning out to be a bad year for most Speculators and Investors. The FAANG Stocks are getting crushed which in turn are hurting the corresponding ETF's. The ROI $800 Billion of Corporate Stock Buy is at best a break even or worst a loss for 2018. I've notice the Lemmings are desperately seeking any good news about a Stock and rushing to capitalize on the up trend causing the stock price swing to rise much higher. This higher price percentage is a symptom of fewer & fewer positive stocks to pick from.

The Deer in the Headlights Investors are not accustom of seeing their portfolio's values drop. Because of the 10 years of Central Bank Economic Interventions. They believe the Stock Market only goes up. So they are not use to incurring losses, which could cause them to panic.
I feel empathy for Money Managers trying to convince their clients not sell their portfolio positions or stop their cash redemptions.
Investors are realizing the Economic Recovery narrative was an Illusion.
