We need credit to get a good deal on insurance, to get accepted for a rental, Fet a good eats in a car or auto loan...yet good credit requires a degree of debt to show lenders we can borrow responsibly. It's quite the balancing act. I'm pretty sure the FICO algorithm is more complicated than the US tax code!
