RE: A New Way to Think about Capital

in #money8 years ago

You have some of the most refreshing posts on Steemit.

The potential loss of social capital is a big deterrent in discussing controversial topics, for one. Whether we want to admit or not.

It comes down to individual preference in regards to whether a person values the "truth" - or whatever he feels is the truth - more than his social capital.

Of course, integrity may be valued a lot in other social circles.

Offtopic, but this reminded of that since it's been on my mind lately.

Thank you @schattenjaeger

Indeed it would seem logical to just be politically correct and just go with the flow if one wishes to earn more social capital. Unfortunately, for better or worse, I can't let myself do that due to a variety of reasons.

I know exactly what you mean. I have been struggling with this all my life. It is hard to maintain oneself once we choose to ride the public acceptance wave.

Same, same - great post @kyriacos - if nothing else you stir the cranial juices. Some people are just born crusaders and we are an unfortunate breed in that we tend to get riddled with bullets!
Thank you for the dedication you clearly gave the construction of your arguments.
Namaste!
