There are many ways to earn from home. I think you mean to say you want to stay at home and make a living. 

I am a homemaker and work online and have been since the year 2010. There are many means to earn online including commission sales, online writing, selling stuff through websites and even working as a social media consultant for companies. 

There are also sure shot ways to earn an income from home and they include

• rearing fish for food
• poultry
• growing vegetables and fruits if you have a garden
• selling hand made crafts
• selling clothes
• fresh home made food and catering
• bakery
• repairing vehicles if you are an expert
• laundry services 
• wholesale dealership in stuff you would like to sell - for example, pet bottle
• buying wholesale and repacking grocery items and reselling to stores

There are a lot of options which one can pursue to earn an income without having to work a full time job. It will also give the person personal freedom and choice to do whatever he or she wants. 

If you want to succeed. you  should remember to work with dedication, discipline and foresight. Nothing can stop a person from achieving great heights if he or she puts the mind to it. Also, ignore anybody trying to discourage you from taking a risk in life. 

Study the success stories of those who started small but went on to become huge enterprises and you will certainly be inspired.
