The power of capitalism over socialism
I was looking at google trips about a future vacation I'm taking to Minneapolis, MN and saw a story about anti car, socialist from Vienna in the 1930s started thinking about and building proportively first us shopping mall that would be like a town square wher serious debate or discussion would occur and it would be free of cars.
Amusingly this certainly becomes the most prolific places of greed, desire, video arcades(70/80s), and movies. All things that definitely do not give good debate. No matter what people try to do to limit capitalism or think it's evil, it takes over as it's closer to that natural order of things than socialism/communism.
Would it have occurred with out this guy? Probably but I found it a good story.
But aside from the socialism aspect, how many times do we try to think of something new(as a community) and it completely goes another direction after it's done.
