"The demonization of money" or "How work dignifies man"

in #money7 years ago (edited)

One of the most hypocritical speeches that exists is that money is the root of all society's ills, everyone who thinks that would love to win a million dollars in the lottery.

"Money is what allows the prostitute to eat bread without having to have sex with the baker!"

Mousetrap with money

In economics there is this concept of double coincidences of wants, which basically says that when there are two sellers, A and B, it is very difficult to A want what B sells. So money comes in as an intermediate commodity, and that's it. A commodity that serves as a reserve of value, a way of exchange.

Through money it became possible to dignify the work of man! With the existence of money, we can specialize in what we have the most vocation, in what we like most or in what gives more money and thus have even more material dignity.

Following this reasoning, money allows the growth of prosperity and consequently the growth of free time.

Don't be the jerk who says that society only thinks in work and despises the family because of money. In fact, the fault of the money is that you don't need to kill yourself to work in deplorable conditions and die at age 30, study economics and history.

Someone needs to produce and for a person to be willing to produce it needs a motivation that will be a future reward or be physically forced.

Have you thought about that? You sacrifice your time to work, since we need to acquire material goods to deal with the fact that we live in the economy of scarcity and a son of a bitch (statist) will assault you because he doesn't want to work.

In this dynamic, you are transformed into an object, a tool to satisfy the desires of those who accuse the work as objectifying the human being. It's not the job which objectifies the man, but rather the state with its legitimacy to put a gun in your head for you to pay the taxes.

Whenever a public policy is defended, innocent human beings are transformed into mere tools. For example, public health, which only serves to regulate the sector and worsen the quality of both the public and the private, and the most macabre, governments use health as an instrument of control of social security expenditures, it's macabre but it's praxeological.

And does anyone still dare to say that the problem is the profit? What is wrong with this story is wanting money that isn't yours!

Where did they come up with this lie that the earth was a paradise before the invention of money? It was worse! The "good savage" it's a lie.

The problem isn't the money, the problem is the lack of it. That's why people kill themselves to work, that's why they accept jobs they hate, that's why they support jerk bosses. It's necessary to work to survive, it's necessary to accumulate capital. If this is done altruistically what is the problem?

In order for us to be free, not from money, but from the scarcity, that is the true slavant of man, we need money, we need to accumulate capital.

Money has an incredible function, it allows the benefits that man produces for civilization to be monetarily rewarded in the form of a commodity that serves as a reserve of value. All the good we do in the world has effects that are spreading, are the positive externalities, which are never inter-compensated, and that's good! At the same time, it enjoys more benefits than others produced without having to pay for it, so civilization rests on the pillars of this material positive externality.

The fall of civilization occurs when government monetizes positive externalities.

With the deflationary currency it's possible to reflect the good that the activity of an individual acting in a legitimate way confers for civilization. Everything the individual has done is rewarded in a way that does not deteriorate or depreciate, all non-monetary commodities depreciate, a solid currency doesn't! This way it is possible to accumulate intertemporal capital as compensation for what it has produced and this encourages it to produce even more. Deflation is the health of money.

When the government controls the money, it becomes sick and is killed. Inflation erodes society and civilizing process.

Only when people can have their capital safe, protected from inflation, they will realize the relative value. Thus, money will acquire a metaphysical dimension. Money will not just be a commodity, money will be everything that the person uses as terms of trade. For example, life time, probably the most solid and highest value currency we have.

When we have the real idea of value, and this is only possible when money is healthy and reflect the real price of things, we will perceive the inestimable value of our life time, and the intangible value of goods such as the time we spend with the family. Time spent with family, leisure time, time of spiritual and intellectual elevation being considered as currency of exchange. The money away from being something derogatory but a noble thing, from the moment you have in mind how much of your life you use as currency to deal with the reality of the scarcity.

Money is bad only when you sacrifice solid coins to earn a less worthy coin. When you sacrifice your neighbor, your dignity, or your honor to make money, you depreciate your metaphysical capital. And that's where the incoherence of the leftists lives, money is so bad that they want to steal yours.
