Is advertising force people to buy unnecessary things ?..

As we all know this is the only effective way to come across the things which are coming in the market. And, give us detailed information of the product. My perception is different that commercials doesn't compell buyer to purchase things which is not needed. Because educated people knows it's just wasted of time and money. No doubt some people may get impressed but they should use their brain before spending money.
