How to Always Pay the Lowest Price Online

in #money7 years ago

Paying full price for something is never fun so I can see the logic behind the chrome extension, Honey.

(I'm NOT paid by Honey to do this. I don't even know them. I just wanted to share this.)

So, it seems like what they've done is created something that will search the web for all promo codes for a product that you want to buy and compare between different sellers.

It also apparently supports a wide range of online ones, (obviously including the big ones) so at a glance this seems perfect.
You'll always get the lowest possible price with the least effort.
So... what's the catch?

Well, according to Honey they don't snoop on your shopping information, but they earn a cut from certain companies.
Now, this still seems too good to be true, and it probably is because the fine print in the Chrome Web Store says:

Yeah.....
Better be safe than spied on. I didn't look into it, but it might just be some simple harmless stuff like money saved or time spent using Honey, but it's safer to just use a quick anti-tracking filter. Adblock Plus is pretty reliable and uBlock Origin is so lightweight, so you might as well if you haven't already.

Anyways just wanted to share this with the Steemit community. (this being a cryptocurrency-centric community, so $$$)
I hope you guys learned something out of that, maybe you can save a few bucks and buy yourself a coffee-- you deserved it.
