Hi Steemians,

I am sure you are all wondering what is golden balls?

"Golden Balls is a British daytime game show which was presented by Jasper Carrott. It was broadcast on the ITV network from 18 June 2007 to 18 December 2009."

What is interesting about this show is that is that it has a lot of psychology at play.

The gist of it~

The show starts off with four contestants and random balls get allotted with half of them hidden from each other, the four vote one another off until there are two left, working up to a prize pool which can be up to a five figure sum.

The Decision~

Once the final sum has been calculated by random selection of balls then the last two remaining players must make decision by choosing a golden ball that says SPLIT or a golden ball that says STEAL.

The talk~

Both final players have a moment to talk about what they do & both say how they are gonna split the prize and not be greedy etc.

What do you believe most people pick?

STEAL of course because they are selfish and want the whole prize for themselves!

This is a snapshot of a woman who stole 100,000 Euro after promising to split the prize.

The game theory~ According to Wikipedia is Game theory is "the study of mathematical models of conflict and cooperation between intelligent rational decision-makers". Game theory is mainly used in economics, political science, and psychology, as well as in logic and computer science.

Nobody wants to be the sucker!

OR

The thief just for the sake of it~

Another clip I really enjoy listening to is how one man turned game theory on its head by saying he was gonna steal!
In the end when two selfish people run into each other they both steal and both walk away with nothing. What Nick did in this clip was take away the feeling of been a sucker and just outright saying he will split after he steals, which makes it more believable, I really like the clip! :)

What I really find interesting is America tried their own version called 'take it all' the prizes were even bigger, however no one liked the show because nobody EVER split and a lot of people began to get very upset watching it.

It's interesting that the similar game style just didn't succeed like the UK version did, makes you think about the entitled attitude.
