The best modern gold bullion and proof award must surely go to the beautiful Mexican Libertad
Perhaps my favourite modern coin of all time is the beautiful Mexico Libertad. This is produced most years by the Casa de Mondeo the oldest mint in North America and is famed for its eclectic and variable mintages
The Gold Proofs are perhaps the most sought after of the Libertads and sometimes like in 2014 only 250 coins per denomination are minted. Normally the coins are in the 5 sizes 1oz, 1/2oz, 1/4oz, 1/10th and 1/20th oz of fine gold.
Watch out in October to March or so each year when the new years Libertads are made available as they sell out very quickly.
