Consumer prices in Brazil fell in November at the fastest pace in a year and a half. According to IBGE, the fall was 0.21%, while experts had predicted a decrease in prices by only 0.09%. Annual inflation also showed a slowdown, reaching 4.05% compared to 4.56% in October. If forecasts for further price cuts hold true, then at the end of the year inflation will be lower than the 4.5% target level of the Central Bank of Brazil by 60 basis points.
