Estimates of eurozone GDP growth confirmed at 0.2%

The Statistical Office of the EU published the final data on the growth of the eurozone economy in the third quarter, confirming a preliminary estimate of a quarterly increase by 0.2%, which reflects the lowest rate since the second quarter of 2014. Analysts also had not expected a change in the preliminary assessment. Over the year, the economy grew 1.6%, which is below the preliminary estimate of 1.7%. The EU economy grew by 0.3% in the third quarter compared to the second quarter and by 1.8% compared with the same period last year. The largest quarterly growth was observed in Malta - 3.6% and in Romania - 1.9%. The decline in GDP was observed in Lithuania, Germany, Sweden and Italy.
