Shaq is an Investing Powerhouse - Take Notes People
Hey, everyone!
If you ever hope to become wealthy, then investing is important and investing is all about leverage. Although I've talked about the power of leverage before, let's do a quick recap. Leveraging time, money, and the efforts of other people are extremely important when you want to achieve wealth because if we rely on our own time, money, and efforts, then we will get frustrated at the slow pace of advancement. Leveraging allows us to make financial gains while having more time, more money, and more energy to apply to other projects or activities. Some people ask, "Is that even possible?" Yes. Yes, it is.
If for whatever reason, you do not know who Shaq is, watch this video:
As you can see, Shaq went from dominating the basketball court to absolutely taking over the investing world!
As I'm sure we can all already tell, Shaq made a lot of money during his basketball career. He could have easily spent all of his money on temporary pleasures such as expensive cars, jewelry, and clothes. But instead, he decided to invest his money into multiple franchises to create multiple income streams for himself. There are many sports superstars that make a lot of money during their athletic years but then they went bankrupt because of poor spending habits. Shaq could have been one of those people, but now he has the life of an investment king.
I understand that most people don't have the initial income stream that Shaq had prior to him making substantial investment moves. But you shouldn't let that discourage you from making investments. You need to see investments as a snowball. When creating a snowball, it is going to start as a small hand size ball. But if you put the snowball on a bed of snow and start rolling it around, then the snowball become bigger.
Even on Shaq's level as a basketball superstar, he did not have the necessary funds to buy the hundreds of franchises that he has now. He started with 1 franchise and he let that generate enough money for him until he eventually had enough money to buy another franchise. He then repeated the process with those 2 franchises until they generated enough money for him so he could buy more franchises. It essentially got to the point that his franchises were paying for more franchises.
His money was making money for him! His investments were paying for more investments!
This is what l mean by leverage. His money was being leveraged because his investments were paying for more investments. He was leveraging time because he had the franchise employees put in their own time for him to make money. He was leveraging the efforts of other people because the franchise employees were working instead of Shaq working.
Shaq is only one person. There was absolutely no possible way for him to work hard enough to reach the same level of efforts as the hundreds of franchise employees that he has working for him.
You are only one person. If you were to have multiple franchises, there would be absolutely no possible way for you to work hard enough to equate multiple franchise employees. If you want to become wealthy and have multiple streams of income, you need to understand the power of leverage and become an investing powerhouse.
Investing is very important to create wealth. Although as an investor you need to know what you are doing because otherwise, you may lose what you have.
Very good post =)
Very true! Always do research to make sure the investment is stable. There's always going to be risks in any investment, but it's important to decrease those risks as much as possible. Thanks for the comment :D
I mostly invest on the stock market, and I had huge profits and also huge losses but one thing always stays with the losses and that is the lesson you learn from mistakes. That is also very important, cuz it's ok for you to lose as an investor if you learned the lesson and don't repeat the same mistakes =)
