Steemit Is Going To Be Successful Because It's Finally An Environment Where The Free Market Can Be Left To Work (plus the corruption of capitalism)
Someone just posted this on Facebook. I think there is a massive flaw in this thinking.
Here's why...
If you only have the minimum wage to live on is that the limit to your earning potential? No.
The thing about capitalism in the west is that if you don't like your income you can change it by providing value to the marketplace.
Don't know how? There are 30,000 books published every day, buy a few of them.
$15 an hour is already available to those who create $15 of value in an hour. We don't need a law for that.
You can make $1,500 an hour if you provide 100x more value to the marketplace during that hour.
You don't get paid for the hour. You get paid for the value you bring to the hour.
If you got paid for the hour you could just stay home and have them send you your money.
The only proviso I'll add is that while this is the reason why capitalism works so well, we don't currently have free market capitalism in it's purest form.
It's a corrupt version of capitalism.
Steemit allows free market laws to play out perfectly.
The amount a post earns has no relationship to the amount of TIME that we put in.
The post earns in direct proportion to the value to the marketplace (the marketplace is the community of people).
The fact that machines are increasingly automating time consuming jobs, we absolutely MUST move away from thinking about time = money, because it doesn't, never has.
A robot will always be able to do more physical work in an hour than a human....
But can it create as much VALUE?
That's the key question and I believe the answer is no.

The underlying question is if a being that is for whatever reason not able to create value to the community - should it loose its right to physically exist or should it be up to the community to decide that?
This scenario will have different outcomes depending on the size of the community as well as the community internal value system.
Think of how one life is valued in China vs. for example in Island or any western society.
Great comment and you have highlighted something I didn't mention in my post.
As someone who has no physical or mental limitation I have no excuse. I am fully capable of providing value to the marketplace and it's therefore my responsibility to do so.
However, I do not place the same expectations on those who have genuine physical or mental limitations.
In my capitalistic pursuits, I will make profits. I will happily pay tax on those profits (under certain conditions).
I'll happily pay my taxes if that money is allocated to take care of these genuinely vulnerable people.
What needs to be clear is when someone has a genuine limitation and when they are 'swinging the lead' as we would say in the UK (i.e. making excuses for being lazy).
Many people pretend they have a limitation when in reality it's their poor attitude that's the problem.

Since you seem to be in the UK I was wondering if you are aware of Private Placement Platforms and how this form of "value" or profit generation plays into a community theory of value creation and distribution? Here is an example to explore: http://www.privateplacementplatforms.com/ - not many are aware of these structures that are part of the fiat federal reserve central banking system. And those are the ones that can be easily detected ;-)

The first goal is not to make money. My first goal is to build an audience of people who like my podcast and want to listen on a regular basis. The bigger my audience gets, the more upvotes I will get. So my belief is that the most important ingredient to success is consistency :)
i have a couple marketing ways to make good income perhaps we can exchange links and ideas , i had make very good in this websites but who knows if you or anyone else have very good ideaas please share your link and lets see if we can make also very good .
many today play for pennies or even fraccions of pennies but am talking about better inconme online

Some people do not have the ability to 'create' more earnings from a capitalism system as they have limited opportunities offered to them. You are based in the UK and are fortunate that the UK has the minimum wage and the benefit system - these were implemented to help those who couldn't 'help' themselves because of their socio-economic environment - see NORTH V SOUTH agenda . In reality what people really need in deprived areas is a LIVING WAGE not a minimum wage, as people need to Live not exist...
You actually skipped over what I think is the real solution. It was the solution I put forward in my post.
You say "they have limited opportunities offered to them". Yes exactly, but that's got nothing to do with capitalism or the free market. It has everything to do with those people not being given equality of opportunity (because of oppression by dictators or governments). That's where the problem is, and that is where it needs to be addressed.
