This has happened over the years in different stories. Everyone wants always to be part of the "discovery" of a new treasure that will make them rich or richer. There is another story (around the 90s) of the company Bre-X that discover a huge reserve of gold in a land that nobody thought to get into but at the end it was all lie (there is a film based on this story named "Gold").
