RE: The War On Cash Ratchets Up In Greece With “Soft Cash” Ban

in #money8 years ago

Add to this the "chokepoint" approach being taken to cryptocurrency. If you try to get some of your money out of the banks and into crypto there's a good chance the bank will close your account, leaving you... where?
I remember when "the war on cash" was dismissed as a crazy conspiracy theory.

I wonder what kind regulations and laws are going to be passed over the next several years to deter people from putting money into precious metals and bitcoin.

The regulations will come after PMs and cryptos (& cash) have been demonized as the tools of terrorists, criminals, tax dodgers etc. By the time they're implemented most people will think they're a good idea (cuz peeple iz stoopid). I'd wager that many people first heard of bitcoin when it was used by criminals in a fictional crime drama and that's an association that will stay with them.

For us on the streets or living in other kinds of ghettos it just ratchets up the pressure and itwill find an escape, because his part of the population already has no help from the government. They even set a precedent for migrating to find more friendly regimes that I have been following and see more and more evidence every day, that many are seeking havens and some places already are safer than others.

Banning drugs made more and cheaper and purer drugs available. What happens when you ban cash?
