The solution is consciousness raising to awareness of valuation. We are the ones paying attention and giving advertisement to actors and sports people. If we stopped paying with our money in sports games, in movies, and stopped paying out time and attention to them, then their value would be reduced.

This is cause and effect of a free market system. It all comes back down to us, we need to point the finger at ourselves. We create the society we have. If we change our quality of thinking to things that matter and stop being mesmerized and amused (mind control techniques) by titillating entertainment, then we could pay attention and focus our currency and energy of time and attention, what we pay attention and spend time on, and also the currency of money, towards things that matter more and are more valuable.

Money is not the root of the problem, consciousness is. We are unraised and unaware of how consciousness functions, and we are fooling ourselves, we are our own worst enemies. We judge, offend and insult ourselves by our own actions.
