As far as I know the posts on Steem/it are made by a service provider which, as a paid service, reposts everything from his blog (probably via a RSS feed or similar) and also likely provides autoupvotes to "promote" the content. This is nothing more than a scheme to extract money from Steem (to the benefit of both the blogger and the service provider) literally without contributing anything at all.
