GAINING STEEM: Hacking, laundering, anonymity and autonomy!

Do you recall your first thoughts about Steemit? I thought I had found a webiste, nay, a community, in which to post my articles that Facebook users would like but wouldn't read. I thought I had found a forum for the poetry that friends would find disturbing.

Instead I found a social media experiment.  As an introvert, I am a natural born observer and watching the types of posts that rise to the top has subdued my urges to seek critiques on my writing in leiu of participating in this domain.  So, let's talk about ways to use Steemit to its full extent:

Laundering Your Money!

It is possible for one to invest in Bitcoin. Exchange Bitcoin for Steem. Convert Steem to Steem Power. Use this influence to provide a voice for other members through upvotes and responses. Post content that will add to this community and then allow the Steem to compound.

Finding an audience for your writing!

By participating more fully in Steemit, you are gaining a reputation, influence and credentials as a member of this public space. You are also reaching an audience you may have never come into contact with before the creation of this website.

Helping Others!

This is a forum that allows strangers from all over the world to make money. It is inevitably going to attract people, good and bad. Much like playing Fable, you are allowed to create your persona and the moral code that accompanies he/she/it/they/mx. I, myself, am choosing to be what I consider good. I want to help others succeed, to promote great posts that are not being read and to make what could become a Livejournal full of greedy individuals into a social media market with a level playing field.  This fantastic creation could help shed light on situations media outlets have been distorting! It could provide dialogue for those unable to communicate effectively face to face! Steemit really could be a society governed by its members!

A virtual handshake if you have read this far. I appreciate the time, effort and decision to read this post. Let me know if you agree, disagree or have any thoughts on how to improve this community.

Thanks,

H
