German Chancellor Angela Merkel will preside over the end of the European Union. Her reaction to the G-7 meeting and U.S. President Donald Trump's refusal to endorse the Paris Agreement on Climate Change will accelerate the market's rejection of EU policy.

How much longer can they hold the EU together?
Trump's performance this weekend will create a split between the monied, core EU members like France, Germany, Holland, Belgium and the PIIGS/former Warsaw Pact countries.
The short answer, not much longer. The long answer until they arrive at the scene of the crash. grin Look for a sovereign debt crisis in 2018.
Do you listen to Jim Willie? he has been talking for years about the EU breaking up into two. He said there will be a northern Euro and a southern Euro, maybe this is in the cards soon.
I have listened to Jim on and off in the past. I think hes batshit crazy but his heart's in the right place. When you read him make sure you have plenty of salt on hand. He's entertaining and sometimes there's a nugget of truth.
Yes I do agree he is a bit out there, but there are quite a few pearls of wisdom in his articles. I think there might be a bit of substance abuse mixed in there as well, with the constant sniffing.
