Why didn't you pay for a taxi or something? As bad as I will sound by saying this, the metro / subway tends to attract a lot of bad elements...
I was not at the metro, I took the bus from the airport to the center and intended to get a cab from there, I was kicked off the bus as someone grabbed my case and I held to it, once out he pulled me to the metro, broad daylight. By the time my partner got off and went to assist me my safety was already compromised :(
