wealth inequality in one photo
This picture has meaning to me because it basically encapsulates what the part of the world has become.
There was a time when small businesses dominated the scene and people had a ton of options as consumers.
The land is being bought up by the few and the people that do not have what it takes (immense wealth) are pused to the side.
The spots in the foreground were tiny shops renting motorbikes and selling sandwiches but were always struggling. In the distance you can see billion dollar buildings that have rooftop pools and hundreds of rooms.
I don't have a problem with money, we all want it, but it is just sad to see the little guys getting squeezed out. The land the smaller buildings are on has already been bought by another massive conglomerate and will be forced out.
This is the way of the world is it? I suppose you should count what few blessings the powers that be are still allowing you to have. Eventually we will all be forced to work for the giant companies as wage slaves. It is just very depressing to me.
