markets are sluggish world over. on the flip side though India's paralyzed govt displays a rupee that has recovered against dollar. not that it means much to those of us watching our economy in doldrums
this is a good thing for the steel market. hopefully this help curb some of the dumping of product in the us. Also didnt the fed increase interest rates to help lower the strength of the dollar?
Actually, it sort of is. The USD being down is better for the united states than too high. It affects profits from exports, thus impacting GDP... i think a big pop coming very soon, what may be known as a "dead cat bounce" ... yes morbid i know lol, but its what they call it
Yeah for sure, definitely good for exports. I actually have shot of friends that import from China and that is what I was thinking about. I had to lookup dead cat bounce and the name fits lol.
Incredible as the US Dollar falls, and here in Venzuela every day gains more value. If I were a foreign investor, I would study the Venezuelan market in the future. Clear betting a recovery not too far from the economy. Why? Because the prices of commercial real estate have lowered their price a lot and there are people that some time in the past were successful entrepreneurs, and now that property is rather a ruin and not a productive business. As a foreigner you could be lucky and buy a business or a property that in the future is a success, the risk of loss of investment would be little for the low of the purchase price. The simplest example I have been looking for is that a used car not very new in the USA costs about 5000 $ and here people sell cars for different needs in less than 1000 $ USD. Likewise with real estate. Thanks for the @dwhntx information, lets have a view of what happens in the USA: Regards. ;)
I think it could be a great time to invest. I have actually looked at property several times online but it all seems expensive. Maybe the way to get a good deal is to actually be there.
It may be, I imagine that those who publish online know what they are selling, and to whom it is directed the sale. Maybe looking personally can get better prices.

I hope we see a bounce soon like we did last year. On the plus side, this means precious metals are basically on sale.

This is definitely good for steel! The dollar dropping has both negative and positive aspects to it.

Yeah an epic 9 year recovery. The same nonsense that cause the 07/08 crash is present now and in some cases, like derivatives are way worse.
