Silverporn Interruptus
When you love your silver coins a bit too much, and things get heated, anything can happen. Videos can get cut short.
This brief clip was originally uploaded to YouTube in April 2009, and enjoyed by my handful of subscribers during the early heyday of 'silverporn' - a term I coined for videos focused on the aesthetic qualities of silver bullion.
It was my first video ever censored by YouTube, under the guise that the short portion of Justin Timberlake's "Sexy Back" heard in the background was damaging profits from his song. Hahah! YT did it to millions of videos, using their then-new algorithms, which 'listened' for even tiny portions of a growing database of commercial songs, and gave the uploader a choice to allow the song owner to monetize their video, delete it, or mute it. I muted, which gave me my first taste of censoring my content to avoid being punished or banned.
But muting ruined the whole feel of the video, including the ending (effectively the punchline). Here it is, in full, thanks to censorship-resistant video platforms in January 2020!
