Chinese Authorities Offer Cash Reward For Tips On Foreign Spies

Chinese authorities have urged their public to help combat evil and guard against spies by offering a cash reward to those citizens who offer information which helps them locate international spies in the country.

The Beijing National Security Bureau recently posted an animated video about how their people could go about trying to spot an international spy in the country and what steps to take should they think they have located one.

The definition of spying is quite broad, but it includes any activity which could potentially "harm the national security of the People’s Republic of China."

The government is offering members of the public a cash reward ranging anywhere from $1,450 to $72,460 for any report of suspected espionage if the intelligence turns out to be useful.

Sources who want to offer up information can choose to remain anonymous and they can also request to have some police protection provided to them and their loved ones. Anyone who provides false information will be dealt with accordingly authorities have warned.

What they are seeking to construct is an “anti-spy Great Wall,..”

And state officials have told their citizens that they play a critical role in helping with their spy investigations. And they have been offered the chance to submit their claims via mail, phone, or in person.
