We all have a dream of one day owning our own Nike brand or a Louis Vuitton, although how much does it really cost to create a brand? I have created many brands in the past that range from low budget to high budget, but today we will focus on creating a budget brand that can be expanded into a mega corporation.

A brand can be created in just 5 steps.

Step #1. Choosing a Brand Name

The brand name is first and the most important step to creating a brand, it can make or break your business.

The brand name needs to have 3 attributes.

1.First, the name needs to be rememberable.
2.Then it cannot have a vulgar meaning in another language, some companies have named a product something and it had an alternate meaning in another country.
3.And lastly, it needs to be catchy and original.

Once you have chosen a great name all you need is to create a logo that can be put on all your products!

Step #2. Creating a Logo

Here we create the logo and start the branding of the company. The logo is something that will be staying for a long time and companies do not change logos too often so you have to get it right the first time! You may be wondering how you can make a logo to put on all your products, it's very simple you don't need to be an artist or a design engineer. You have two choices in creating the logo, you can either do it budget friendly or go premium right off the bat.

The two methods.
#1. The Budget Method: You can create a beautiful looking logo through the greatest website ever, that is called Fiverr. You can get anything done for only $5, although I do not recommend you spending only $5 to create a logo for your business. They have many different packages for logo creation, a full package with all editable files can run you around $20-$50 max. They also give you many corrections that can be done if you want a change.

#2. The Premium Method: This is a great method, to begin with as it will save you money in the long run because you will have a great looking logo right away. The website 99 Designs offers an insane system for creating logos, graphic designers will have a competition to create the best logo for you.

The catch is all 50-100 designers will try their best to make the best logo but you get to choose the best one and the one you choose is the only one you pay for. This is a great method to get an amazing looking logo, but it will be quiet costly it can range anywhere from $100-$300 depending on your specifications.

You have seen the difference between the two, they are all high quality and professional. In 99 Designs you get a more premium product with all the files necessary while in Fiverr you choose if you want the files and the price becomes more depending on your package.

All the designers on both platforms are super nice and friendly and always cooperate with you and your needs to ensure you get exactly what you want.

Step #3. Choosing a Product

Here comes the difficult part, you now need to choose a product you would like to sell. I would usually choose according to these 3 criteria.

#1. You must love that industry, there's no point selling something you have no interest for.
#2. It has to be a product that is in demand.
#3. You must be capable of changing it to be able to have you own competitive advantage, don't compete if you can't differentiate yourself from the competition.

Now once you have chosen what you want to sell and love, we can head over to my two favourite websites for contacting manufacturers. They are Alibaba and Aliexpress, these two websites have truly revolutionized the world, they enabled us to get into contact with manufacturers in China that are trustworthy and create products through them.

The first one mention is Alibaba, so you can purchase from here they have the most competitive pricings but you need to buy a high quantity from the factories. The MOQ (Minimum order quantity) is usually at least 100 pieces and if you product costs $5-$10 it can really rack up in costs. It's a great platform it has buyer insurance so if anything wrong happens Alibaba is going to pay you back for any losses.

The next is Aliexpress, here you can buy a product that will be branded with your logo and they will do it for a much low MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity). It a website by Alibaba so it offers the same buyer assurance and protection.

Step #4. Choosing the Manufacturer

Once you have gone onto Alibaba and Aliexpress you need to choose one manufacturer and speak to them and begin to negotiate the pricing and details of the product being made. If you can convince them that you will be a long term buyer and ready to create a relationship with them.

They will give you better prices and even be more lenient with the MOQ so you don't have to buy 1000 pieces. It is important you look at all of the different manufacturers and choose those who have a 5 years or more badge on their account to ensure they have experience.

Step #5. Create a Facebook Page

Now once you have spoken to the manufacturers on creating your product and branding it with your logo, you can now begin to start your own Facebook page to advertise your products.

Facebook has created a tool for businesses to manage their pages and it's much easier than going on the Facebook website and doing it from there.

Once you have created the Facebook page you can now invite all your friends to check out your products and they can invite their friends and slowly begin to grow your page and sell products. You can set up Facebook ads to really jump start your business and it will begin to grow with followers.
