The Best Broadband Internet Options for MalaysianssteemCreated with Sketch.

in #money6 years ago

With all the big telcos finally releasing their new broadband internet offerings (well, it was really only TIME that was taking its sweet time...), it's time to look at the best options for Malaysians.

I have written a full analysis as to what to take into consideration when deciding who you sign with, but the short story is the following:

  • If no one in the house watches Netflix and barely spends time on Youtube, you can use TM's 30mbs play for RM79 (has a 60GB quota each month)
  • If you are living with 3 or fewer people, you should be using Maxis's 30mbs plan for RM89 plan (no quota)
  • If you are with more than 3 people, OR you have a TV that can handle 4k definition, and you want to watch your movies on Netflix at that level, then you should go with TIME's 100mbs at RM99 plan (no quota)
  • If you are some sort of graphic designer, photographer, or video editor and you do a lot of transferring (ie your files are in the GB), then you should go with TIME's 500mbs at RM139 (no quota)

I won't get into the details here, but internet speed that's in the 100s is really unnecessary for most people as you will not want to watch your movies at 20x the speed.

Anyway, hope this helps! And if you have any questions or comments, please share it in the comments!
