What is a "Side Hustle" and why have one.
A Side Hustle is another stream of income that you have created along side your day job.
It is important to have a side hustle in this day and age. If you loose your day job, and your side hustle is strong enough, it will sustain you and your family financially until you can find another job. Ideally you want your side hustle to grow larger than your day job, so it can become your business. I know a lot of you reading this would rather work for yourself instead of someone else. You will have more control over how much you work, and how much free time you have to do what you want.
Being a cash seeker isn't just about getting money, it is about freedom from financial burdens. I hate living from pay check to pay check, or just barely making it to the next pay check. Having a side hustle closes the gap between pay checks. I would rather have more money at the end of the month to do what I want.
When people hear the word "hustle" they automatically think of something negative, but I would say it means hard worker. When you are working at your day job for someone else it feels like you have no control over anything. When you get your pay check, you think that it is not enough, or that you want a raise because you have been with the company for so long. Then the government takes it's share, and you get what is left.
When you have a side hustle, you are in control of how much you make. If you want a raise, all you have to do is come up with a new product or service. With a side hustle you are free to be as creative as you want, without a boss to tell you that they don't like your idea. You are free to implement the new idea, and if it does not work, you can just try something else. The sky is really the limit. You can also have multiple side hustles.
The more streams of income, the bigger your pool of money. So if you don't have a side hustle, get a pen and a notebook and find you a quiet place to think. List the things you know how to do, and how you can use those skills to make money. Remember you will be the boss, so you don't need approval from an outside source to implement your ideas. There are a lot of side hustles you can start without any money.
My first side hustle was selling items on eBay. I sold items I no longer wanted. You may be skilled at making things. I'm sure there is a person out there willing to buy what you are selling. You can also offer a service. There are a lot of cleaning and repair services out there. I just want you to at least try something. If you fail, then try something else. Keep trying until you find your side hustle.
If you have any questions, leave a comment and as always "fear not its only money".
