Hey guys!
Today I'll talk about some guidelines on how to win poker tournaments!

So how does our strategy looks like?

#1 - Play tight in the early levels
Players usually play more hands that they should do, so by playing better hands than our opponents we will have them dominated most of time, for example AQ vs A4 when an ace comes on the flop, they tend to lose a lot of chips to you.
When playing from the early positions usually we'll get called by some opponent that will be in position (you'll have to play before them) on the hand, so you want to have a strong hand there.
With less players to act behind you can wide up a little bit more. On the button position you can raise a lot of speculative hands, even like 43 suited to try to steal the pot. Even if you get called by the blinds you can still play it well mostly because you will be in position and the hand is disguised.

#2 - Poker is a patience game
Always be disciplined and patient, the tournament won't end until one player remains, and you want that player to be you, so you can't win before that. Always be careful as you can do some bad play and end up losing a lot of chips or tilting and busting the tournament early.
Take your time and think carefully about every decision.

#3 - When the opponent shows weakness, bluff him
Every time an opponent shows some weakness like checking twice is a good spot to bluff him if you don't have anything.

#4 - Unless you are playing vs a very good opponent, people don't really care about bet sizes
Usually people bet small with weak hands and big with strong hands, they don't really pay attention to their bet sizing, so be careful when they bet a big amount of chips.
On the other hand, you can bluff with small bets because if the opponent likes his hand he'll mostly call any size. Make sure you bet bigger when you have a strong hand.
But please be careful against a good player, usually vs him you'll need to bet the same value with strong and weak hands to don't let him know what you have.

#5 - Exploit people when it's near bubble
People usually get scared of busting near bubble, so if you have enough chips to run over the table, that's the perfect time to do that. If you have few chips, hold on and just go all-in with a strong hand.

#6 - It's in the money
Yeah we're in the money, so tight up again as people usually get a little bit crazy as they already won some of it and they want to double chips up.

#7 - It's always better to be the one going all-in than calling an all-in
When stacks are shallow, like 13 big blinds or less, people usually either fold or go all-in, that's because some math around that. Anyways, it's always better to be the one going all-in because you can win the pot when all players fold. If you're the one facing an all-in, if you call you'll have to win the hand on the showdown, so make sure your hand is strong enough to have a profitable call.

This is a general guideline for any type of poker tournament that you may wanna play.

Very usefull post , good job keep it up !

I played poker tournament for almost 10 years Online, and for 2 years IRL, and I can't agree more. I cashed out 2300$ last year, because it was a too strong addiction for me. I couldn't stop playing, I did once 48h straight without sleeping, eating in front of my computer, and taking it with me to the toilet. It's a game you can play with some much passion, sometimes too much passion. Nice post mate! ;)
