Food Inflation In Your Neck of the Woods?

in #money7 years ago

I first started noticing the drastic rise in food costs a couple years back when the packages of polish sausage that were 16oz shrank to 14oz with no price change. Crackers, meats, canned veggies all started shrinking in portion sizes but the prices never changed. Today 12oz of polish sausage is the same as it was four years ago, just 4 oz less product.

This inflation is now hitting just about every product you can imagine, from cars to video games, clothing, and much more. Is this happening in your neck of the woods, and if so, is there anything we can do about it?

The problem...

The solution? Well, one that is working for our family is Homesteading. Stay tuned here as we will share many ways we beat inflation and live a more robust life in the world of self reliance.

Sort:

I paid $22 for one rib eye steak, the other day. We are paying $8 for a pound of lean ground hamburger, and a block of butter is $7, this is exactly why I homestead. It's crazy and getting worse.

The package of those M&M`s cost more than the 6 lil ones inside lol-crazy!

It's everywhere, Brad. Sausage in Kentucky has gone from 16oz to 12oz and price has gone from ~$2 to nearly $5. It's insane. A pound of name brand butter will run you $8 here!

Aussie battler here and food in my country is at an all time high. Meat [beef] and fish are so expensive many people just do without.

One of my Favorite vids my friend. Stop by sometime to my channel! Thanks, The Break Away Homesteader

its here too, brad. ive been trying to tell people this for a while now, but it just seems to go to deaf ears. look at your toilet paper rolls...they used to be wider, for the same price. they might as well start making narrower toilet paper roll holders at this point, cuz the rolls look ridiculous on the ole skool ones.
look at your coffee cans. used to be a pound, then 15oz, now 11 or 10.5, for the same price.
thanks for bringin it.
i finally posted my intro post; mentioned you in it. kazam!
sending you a little tip on this one. not much, since i dont have much, but, loved it!
