Everyone wants it!!

What’s that? Let me see… Aaah only three left! It’s `selling like hot cakes’. Gosh and I really wanted one too!! Go-on let me have one too. Why ever not?

 

Have you ever HAD something that wasn’t selling? 

You have been trying to sell it for years and no one bought it!  

And now you have to sell it and wondered how you could do it? 

Ask yourself a few pros and cons:

  • What’s wrong with it? Can you change anything? And can you keep the cost down to fix it? 
  • The price you had put on it, what are people paying for something similar? Or does it have something more than what is presently on the market? 
  • Does it suit the milieu? What is the going price in the local area? What are people in that area generally requiring and buying? Is it stylish enough for that particular area? 
  • How would you write up the deal? What’s in the contract? People won’t buy, unless there is something in it for them, that suits their situation or pocket. 
  • List any objections and expectations and how you will handle them. 

Then to sell it, 

Set up a BIG anticipation:

Spread the word… 

  1. Let those involved in the project know what’s occurring. Also tell them they can let their family and friends into the `secret’… So you have a full supporting team. 
  2. To the general public, let it be known there is a fantastic bargain coming up. Set the basic price, 10-25 percent lower than the usual going price. But don’t give details or dates yet. Build up the anticipation. Let it be `talk of the town’. 
  3. When all is ready, completely built or refurnished, and everyone knows about it… then set the date and time of the awaited the sale. On the condition, `first come, first served’.  
  4. And add an advisory time limit for cancelling and getting deposits back.  
  5. And importantly, let it also be known (with-tongue-in-cheek) that you hope there will be enough to go around for everyone! 

Then on the date & time of sale:

Watch the crowds gather and queue up… 

Allow a certain time period limit for people to peruse the property, before you allow the sale(s) to go ahead. The viewing period gives everyone a fair chance to check through and see what’s actually selling before buying. 

It is important you have enough contracts printed and waiting before the sale is to take place. All the people need to do is then to fill in their names, addresses, etc and sign. 

And to the “Why ever not?” question:

There wasn’t enough to go around… and you could lose out, if you weren’t early enough to line up. 

  • When people realized there was a limited amount and there were lots of people wanting the same thing, they were willing to line up to try to get one. 
  • And when there are hundreds of people wanting for the same thing, surprisingly, suddenly the item has greater value! 
  • More value it has, the greater the line-up. The more people, the more exciting the bargain … the more people appreciate it and desperately want it! 

Conclusion: 

Whereas you couldn’t sell one, now you could sell the lot. It was just sitting on a shelf, taking up room where something else would sell better. 

Not only covering the cost to make it, but... a large capital in-hand afterwards to reinvest somewhere else.

If you’re wondering why no one is excited about your website or blogs, think again… 

  • How dynamic are your headlines? Do they build up great anticipation?
  • Is your blog content what they public really want, need, desire or crave? 
  • Are you giving people out there a great `deal’?  Is it more than they expect? That they’ll come around again. Is it so good, they’ll even spread the word about what you do?

Yes, great writing, but there are too many factors and they are changing too fast, just when you adopt yourself, bum, something new is on its way... So i think, one of the most important key to success is to stay flexible (if you have cover all that you mentoned allready) :)

you know once i had an old camera . i hate that very much . it was from 1940's, something like that .

so i wanted to sell it , but nobody wanted to take it but i had to get rid of it so i gave it to a kid in the downtown on 5 dollers, and after a month i had an unexpected visit to a museum .. there i saw the same camera i wanted to get rid of .... i asked the working staff.. they said we had brought that from a man 2 weeks ago... its very antique and we had bought it from him for 2000 dollers .... and i thought ... shit......and he also told me that he was with his son... that was the same guy i game my camera too. so :(

Though very interesting topic u have put up..you ending it on a selling blog..I can only say as a newcomer you have to be very patient and honest with your work.It won't get noticed by anyone but we can't lose hope, we have to keep giving our honest shots, a day will come when all of it will count :)

Since you usually follow my blog posts, you'll know and understand my way of putting things. And how I love to get people thinking from all angles. Somewhere within my posts folks will get a new handle on an old concept. And see where they can use it from their own point of view.

Some nice selling tips, creating anticipation with out letting out much details.
Sometimes it's about our selling skills not about the product itself because some other people might be successful at selling the same product.
I think this comes down to blogs too as you have suggested.

I am working hard on my posts and I try to be aware making "selling" headlines, etc. Still, I experience that only a few people reads, up-vote or comment.
