a TRILLION...it is quite a number

I believe people really need to understand our National debt (USA). We are almost at 20 trillion dollars in debt and I believe that is not even counting many of future unfunded liabilities...it's difficult number to grasp these numbers, as it's not in our everyday lives..but here are some ways to look at it....

A trillion seconds is equal to over 31,688 years...yes YEARS!

Mitch McConnell back in 2009 is credited with stating “if you started the day Jesus Christ was born and spent $1 million every day since then, you still wouldn’t have spent $1 trillion.”

A brand new Porsche 911 is a pretty luxurious purchase. Only the truly wealthy can afford to plunk down $88,800 on a car that fits two people and a weekend bag. But with a trillion dollars, in addition to a diploma you could give a set of keys to every graduating high school student in the country -- for the next four years! Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, the entire Walton family -- these are just a few of the names that top Forbes' annual report on the richest people in the world. Yet none of them will ever be worth a trillion dollars. In fact, if you put the 50 richest billionaires in a room, their combined net worth would barely pass $1 trillion.
