Greed... The cancerous scourge of humanity

Without it we wouldnt have war, we would have less violence, less suffering, less poverty.
Why was this given to humans as a trait?
Can greed ever be a good thing?

Why do people want what is not theirs.

Addicts are usually scorned by society, but when someone is addicted to money and power and takes more and more, hoarding it for themselves, it is seen as a respectable and positive thing.
When people collect housea, even though they have their own, to rent out at increased cost, raise prices to sell.... Puah people out of the market so they can get more, the government gives then benefits anx bonuses in the form of tax cuts.

This is the one thing that is destroying society, humans and the earth.
