You could have hundreds or thousands of dollars in missing money, but you can claim these dollars and get them back!

Did you know if you have a bank account you haven’t used for more than three years the bank can close your account and list your assets as unclaimed property and the assets go to the government, but you can claim these assets if you are the owner, heir or the executor of someone’s inheritance that has passed away.

To check if you have unclaimed property that has been listed as abandoned go to missingmoney.com or you can also go to unclaimed.org and search by your state that you live in to see if you have lost assets that have been forgot about.

Your local state unclaimed property site will look like this

When you search by last name it will look like this

It is really easy to search and see if you have any abandoned or unclaimed property waiting for you, it will only take a minute or two to search so might as well see if you have anything waiting for you. Your unclaimed property could be stocks, bonds or CD's you forgot about a long time ago, or even an old savings account.
