Suvodol Monastery
Suvodol Monastery is a Serbian Ortodox monastery located in Eastern Serbia, near City of Zaječar. It is dedicated to the Birth of the Virgin Mary. Monastery was first built by Eastern Roman Empire's monks between 1004 and 1008 AD. Serbian Prince Lazar took care of the monastery in late 14th century. The old church was destroyed in 1865 by Otoman Turks, and the new one was built by the end of 1866. Today it is home to a few nuns.
It is surrounded by beautiful nature, old forest and waterfall.
