Mohamud Gabra’s Revenge Shakes Danab Down

NAIROBI; Mohamud Ali also known as - Mohamud Gabra - was a former translator of US Embassy in Somalia and is currently a US Site Coordinator as he revenges by pushing Somali prime minister Hassan Ali Khaire to pressure the commander of Somali National Army (SNA) Odaaa Yuusuf Raage to appoint Major Ismail Abdimalik Moalin to Danab brigade knocking Danab's brigade commanders down. The Danab Brigade is a highly trained Somali national army infantry commando force. Its' well-known strikes, it has repeatedly reclaimed land in quick succession previously possessed by Somali Al-Qaeda linked insurgents Al-Shabaab. Mr. Moalin was kicked out from Danab two days before his nomination of the head of the brigade commander by a committee consists of five young officers of Danab who found him stealing over $250 thousand of military gears belonging to Danab. Prime minister Khaire ordered Somali Commander of Defense forces to issue nomination of Major Ismail Moalin the same day he was announcing an increase in the army’s pay, with each soldier earning $200 a month.

This letter is issued and signed by CDF as he has moved Mr, Moalin from Danab and he was transferred into 60 battalion which guards Villa Somalia

Two days after Mr, Moalin was removed from Danab; This second letter is issued and signed by the Commander of Defense Forces Odaaa Yuusuf Raage as he has nominated Major Ismail Abdimalik Moalin as Danab brigade commander following the order of the Prime Minister of Somalia Hassan Ali Khaire

ISMAIL MOALIN’S RECORD

Ismail Moalin has been promoted from captain to major after becoming the prime minister’s head of security guards. Mr, Moallin was kicked out from Danab — Somali special forces — on October 29, 2019, by a committee consists of five young officers of Danab who found and charged Mr. Moalin for stealing over $250 thousand of military gears belonging to Danab which he eventually equipped to the prime minister’s guards. According to investigations and the indictment of the fact-finding committee of Danab stated that he did steal over $250.000 worth of equipments in earlier of this year, including 47 enhanced night vision goggles, ejection ports, forward sights, rear sights, grips, tangs, slides, slide locks, triggers, trigger guards, magazine wells, magazine realize Buttons, detachable box magazines, and magazine springs, take-Down levers, accessory rails, and muzzles.

“Ismail was not charged or brought to Military court because of stealing special forces gears which he was accused of, because he is the head of the guards of Khaire who is most powerful man in Somalia at the moment” replied by General Madoobe head of SNA operations commander “Instead he was rewarded to be the head of the units which he has stollen the military pieces of equipment from,” he added

“The Somali prime minister Khaire knew that Mr. Moalin has been kicked out from the special forces two days ago before he has ordered Gen Odawaa head of Somali national army, to put his head of guard in-charge Danab but It's unclear whether prime minister also known these allegations of Mr. Moalin but for sure though his right-hand man - close adviser of Mr, Khaire’s - Mohamud-Gabra knew it all the charges instead he was pushing Moallin to be the commander of special forces which he has stolen military gears from just to revenge his corruptions that Danab leaders” responded by SNA general who requested his name to remain anonymous because of security issue.

MOHAMUD GABRA'S REVENGE

US site coordinator Mohamud Ali known as Mohamud-Gabra was a VOA reporter before joining the mission, from Phoenix Arizona. He has served as a translator for the US embassy based in Nairobi before becoming US Site Coordinator. Though Mohamud Gabra is currently in Arizona, USA, he warmly enjoys bringing Danab leadership down by getting overwhelming support from the Somali prime minister personally.

WHAT ARE THE NEXT MOVES OF MOHAMUD GABRA TOWARDS DANAB

Mohamud Gabra's next moves are as follows;

1. M.Gabra is going to order SNA leadership through prime minister Khaire to put major Hassan Salah Abdi as a deputy brigade of Danab
2. M.Gabra will order SNA leadership through prime minister Khaire again to form a committee of Somali National Army head by Gen Qafow. This committee's sole mission is to accuse the Danab commanders especially, the Danab battalion commander Jeeni-Qaar who has liberated Bariire, Ceel-Saliin, Awdheegle as a criminal of killing Al-Shabab fighters during these liberations and will make Al-Shabab fighters as civilians.
3. The same SNA committee will accuse Danab commanders especially, the Danab battalion commander Jeeni-Qaar for stealing weapons

As the Somali public learns that Mohamud-Gabra is the closest advisor to Somali prime minister Khaire. According to close sources from the prime minister’s office confirms that M-Gabra has claimed that he has set up a meeting between AFRICOM commander and Ismail Moalin, the newly appointed commander of Danab and US troops have t no concern about Mr, Moallin though AFRICOM doesn't confirm his claims.

Mohamud Gabra's who behind scenes steady stream of misleading corruption information he fed to the US Somalia mission that had prompted the United States to cut funding for the Somali army in 2017.

M.gabra now retaliates from Danab brigade - Somalia's special forces’ units which strongly rejected his corruption plans and has reported to the US government for his interferences in its units. M.Gabra has said "I promise that he and his team will regret of their reporting me to the US government" he continues " Noone can't do anything I do here, the US government needs me here and I am always going to be here whether they like it or not, so they loose not knowing who they are messing with" M.Gabra adds talking to some of SNA young officers flexing his muscles to show his great power though African Today couldn't clarify who he refers (He or His team).

THE ROLE OF PRIME MINISTER

After Somali prime minister Hassan Ali Khaire has arrived at his office on Thursday, October 31, 2019, the Cabinet approved a majority vote of $459.5 million for the 2020 government budget. The increase in the 2020 budget, most of which is an increase in the army’s pay, with each soldier earning $200 a month. At some time, Mr. Khaire has ordered the CDF Odawaa Yuusuf Raage to nominate Mr. Moallin - prime minister Khaire’s nephew - as commander of Danab-Somali Special Forces under the care of U.S of America which funds and trains these troops.

“ How does the prime minister do this to our special forces when he preaches that he is a servant of the people, a man with integrity and new face of Somali Politics and Government? On the same day that his cabinet passes a bill that increases of $100 to each soldier then prime minister orders the appointing of his nephew - his head of security guards - to be a commander of our special forces. Something doesn't add up here” relied on a member of Somali civil society based in Mogadishu who requested her name to remain anonymous because of security issues.

"These are prime minister's words in last Thursday, October 10, 2019, in the cabinet meetings said bitterly by a small business owner woman who is a proudly pays her government taxation in Hamar Wayne District ” Mr, Khaire has said; “They (SNA troops) deserve more and they owe us more. “We have turned to our army after a long period of work in restructuring our economic capacity. This is the first year it will be a month,” said Prime Minister. Mr. Hassan Ali Khaire said the 2020 budget is based on the country’s vision and development, and it shows a vibrant government whose aim is security and service and when the country is pardoned the debt will be increased to billions. The people grant them power under the condition that they serve with integrity."

Nuuh Ali Ahmed's 3rd year of Student at Somali University in Mogadishu also said “So I believe, he is ill-advised by Mohamud Gabra who Mr, Khaire deeply trusts or he is a hypocrite, saying something and practicing another same as the dirty politician we had before. We will see and wait for the coming days and if he doesn’t change and stop Ismail guy from Danab and support our special troops, then this will be our turning points and will bring him down with bad scandal”

DANAB’S STRUGGLE FOR PROTECTION

This is really a huge blow to the U.S government which heavily invested in Danab with both money and human resources. It puts a weak position to the US government's leadership which seems that it can’t defend the only troops who seriously fight against Al-Shabab (Al-Qaeda linked Islamic insurgents which) US troops mentor, shares joint operations with, but it just watches as they are demolished. Danab one of the most challenging periods in its history

David Chayes who works for a Think Tank which deals with a research of security, military, social policy, political strategy and economics based in Nairobi said “The bedrock of US government’s work is a commitment to zero tolerance for working with a commander who was involved in corruption or stealing previously, let alone someone who has stolen US government’s properties that it has given to support Somalis special forces units” he has also explained, going in details saying that “Under Leahy Anti-Public Corruption Legislation which was passed by the US Senate Judiciary Committee in Jan. 6, 2009 in the (section 5. states that Theft or Bribery Concerning Programs Receiving Federal Financial Assistance” will face penalties increases from 10 to 15 years to the maximum term of imprisonment for theft and embezzlement of federal funds” Plus it doesn't look or feel right for US troops to kill the morale of special forces it has trained because it shares joint operations with this units.

Somali Government’s policy towards Danab seems easily dismantling the special troops that give their lives to defeat the enemy of Somali people, spend most of their energy and time fighting with the Al-Shabab. Instead, the Somali government asks guidance and directions from M.Gabra who is corrupted and destroying its special forces. Somali government kills the morale of its soldiers and has rewarded Danab by appointing someone who has stollen its military gears from their brigade as it waits to fall apart. Some other trusted source close to the SNA leadership says that both the CDF and the chief of Staff of Somali national army are getting direction from the prime minister Khaire himself who intends to get rid off Danab and wants to use Somali Special Forces trained by Turkey reasons are still unknown and its also not clear whether the president of Somalia Mohammed Abdullahi Farmajo shares with that same vision.
