What is Modbus Protocol?

When we talk about hardware communication between devices we comes through this topic.

Modbus Protocol .
It is a method of transferring data from device to another device through different types of communication networks.
In this protocol we can have Master Device which transmits the data and the other devices as slave which receives the data.

In this configuration we have one master and up to 247 slave each having unique ids from 1 to 247.

How does it works?

Modbus is transmitted over serial lines between devices. The simplest setup would be a single serial cable connecting the serial ports on two devices, a Master and a Slave.
