Dash passes Apple's review process and becomes available on iOS apps
Dash announced today official acceptance by Apple as an approved cryptocurrency on the App Store. Following a comprehensive appeal, the world's largest company has now formally reversed an August 2016 decision to deny entry to the App Store for applications integrating Dash, including the†official Dash wallet. The approval confirms that Dash can be integrated and utilized in any relevant application in the iOS App Store, including multi-blockchain wallets and Dash's own official wallet, available today.
CEO of Dash Core Ryan Taylor said: "As Dash continues to expand our user base and ecosystem of services, it is critical for our users to have access to their Dash funds on a variety of platforms, especially mobile devices. Dash's instant payments make Dash ideal for point-of-sale situations, which means mobile phone support for all of our users is a must. The fact that Apple now recognizes the increased demand and importance of Dash speaks to the progress we've made in reaching larger and larger audiences."
Over the past year, developers and blockchain companies have submitted several Dash-integrated wallets to the App Store, of which the vast majority were rejected.

Google Mobile App Gets More Personal and Relevant
Google is updating its Google app on Android and iOS to incorporate more machine learning-based personalization features. But the real story here is that the search giant is quietly dropping its Google Now brand as well.
"People have long turned to Google to get answers, learn about the world, and dig deeper on topics they're passionate about," Google vice president Shashi Thakur explains. "Today, we are announcing a new feed experience in the Google app, making it easier than ever to discover, explore, and stay connected to what matters to you, even when you don't have a query in mind."
Before explaining exactly what that means, let's step back for a moment and try to put this in perspective. I say "try" because this is a bit hazy to me. But here's my understanding: Google introduced Google Now in 2012 as part of a then-new mobile search experience that included its then-unnamed Siri competitor, a digital assistant with voice control. Google Now was meant to be proactive, and one might argue that it has always used what we now call machine learning to present you with the information you need at any given moment.

July 2017 Security Patch Hits Galaxy S6, S6 Edge On T-Mobile
Samsung's Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge on T-Mobile are now receiving an update packed with the July 2017 security patch. It's rolling out as an over-the-air (OTA) update and takes the Galaxy S6 to the build number G920TUVS5FQG1, while the Galaxy S6 Edge is receiving the software version G925TUVS5FQG1. T-Mobile has already publicized some details on the latest software for both phones, revealing that the updates are quite small, sized at 55.73MB and 55.1MB, respectively. As well as bringing the July Security patch, the upgrade will likely include various bug fixes as well as improvements pertaining to stability and performance of both devices.

VEON offers mobile messaging app in five markets, including Russia
FRANKFURT (Reuters) - Global telecom operator VEON said on Wednesday it was making progress in its strategy to reinvent itself as an online player by introducing its messaging and mobile services app in four new markets, including its largest in Russia and Pakistan.
The messaging app, which is designed to compete with the likes of Facebook Inc's WhatsApp and Rakuten Inc's Viber, offers free services to customers via its mobile network without users incurring data charges as other apps do.
It was introduced late last year to customers of its Wind Tre joint venture, which VEON, formerly known as Vimpelcom, runs in Italy with CK Hutchison of Hong Kong. Two more markets where VEON will offer the app are Ukraine and Georgia.
Italian users will receive an upgraded version of the messaging app later this week, the company said in a blog post.

Google's safeguard against rogue Android apps is now available
Google is acting on its promise to further guard your Android phone against rogue apps. The company tells us that it's rolling out its Play Protect home screen to every Android device running Google Mobile Services 11 or newer. If you see it (it's in in the Google section of your settings, under Security), you'll know that your device has scanned apps to make sure they're clean. You†probably†won't need to look at this page very often, but it's there if you're ever wondering whether a sketchy-sounding Play Store app poses a threat.
