Growing up, I used to be the biggest MMA fan.

(I have a 2003 Sherdog account with a few thousand posts. If you're a MMA fan, you know what I'm talking about).

When Pride FC died though, I kind of lost interest shortly thereafter.

It seemed like UFC had a monopoly on MMA, and to be honest Pride FC really balanced out the entire MMA world.

it's not like I suddenly stopped watching ALL MMA. But, eventually, my interested kind of faded. Maybe I had just gotten older.

Anyway... Did You Watch Pride FC Back In The Day?

Remember when Randleman KO'd CROCOP?

Remember Bas Rutten and Mauro on commentary? Remember the epic SHOCKWAVE events?

Remember when CROCOP won the open weight grand prix?

(What other human on the planet can say they defeated Wandy Silva and Josh Barnett in one night? I've always contended that Mirko on that night, was the best MMA fighter ever).

Remember Royce Vs. Yoshida? Royrce Vs. Sakuraba? Saku Vs. Wand?

Remember when Sakuraba came out to fight Royce, and he had his two henchmen with the masks?

Or Maybe... You Have No Idea What I'm Talking About.

The memories are fond nevertheless.

Ahhh. Those were the days.

The funny thing... Is during the Pride era, I still loved UFC. Pedro Rizzo, Chuck Liddell, Josh Barnett, Kevin Randleman (RIP), were some of my favorite fighters from those days.

But... When Pride FC died... MMA lost its magic.
