American League Wild-Card
Matchup: Minnesota Twins at New York Yankees

AL Wild-Card Game Preview
The New York Yankees are back in the playoffs for the first time since playing in the 2015 Wildcard game. Despite losing the 2015 Wildcard game, many felt that the Yankees overachieved that season by reaching the postseason alone. Now two years later, many people thought that the Yankees were going to miss the playoffs this year. “Not so fast my friend”- Lee Corso, the Yankees’ Baby Bronx Bombers played extremely well this season that includes MVP candidate OF Aaron Judge, C Gary Sanchez, SS Didi Gregorius, and SP Luis Severino. SP Luis Severino (14-6 record, 2.98 ERA) will matchup against Minnesota Twins SP Ervin Santana (16-8, 3.28 ERA). The Twins are the first team to go from 100 losses one season to the playoffs the next season. Twins are in the postseason for the first time since 2010 (got swept by the Yankees). Catcher Joe Mauer had a bounce back season hitting .305 with 71 RBI’s. Look for OF Byron Buxton, 3B Miguel Sano, and 2B Brian Dozier to make an impact. Whoever wins this game will face the Cleveland Indians in the ALDS.
Prediction: Yankees win 5-2
National League Wild Card
Matchup: Colorado Rockies at Arizona Diamondbacks
Date: Wednesday, Oct. 4th, 2017
Location: Chase Field, Phoenix, AZ
Time and TV Channel: 8:08 ET p.m. on TBS
NL Wild-Card Game Preview
Coming into the 2017 season, the Arizona Diamondbacks nor the Colorado Rockies were predicted to be in the playoffs. Now here we are…..MVP candidate and Diamondbacks’ 1B Paul Goldschmidt, OF J.D. Martinez, and SP Zack Greinke helped Arizona reached the playoffs for the first time since 2011. SP Zack Greinke (17-7, 3.20 ERA) will matchup against Rockies’ SP Jon Gray (10-4, 3.67). Rockies first year Manager, Bud Black never made the playoffs with the San Diego Padres (spent 9 seasons there). Rockies have one the best offensive lineups throughout baseball that includes MVP candidates OF Charlie Blackmon and 3B Nolan Arenado. This will be the Rockies first playoff appearance since 2009. This should be a fun matchup. Whoever wins will face the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLDS.
Prediction- Diamondbacks win 4-3
