 Focus Mitts training isn’t mere a regular workout but it is more than this. One can develop fighting reflexes, learn techniques, how to better punch, better defense skills and attacking strategies. To save boxing players body from any type of injuries it is essential to learn professional tips from boxing veterans. Pad or focus mitts holding is one of the more important skills that must be at its peak when you are coaching.  WHAT ARE FOCUS PADS?

 Focus pads (also called focus mitts, coaching pads, punch mitts and target pads) are flat, hand-held pads that are about 12 inches in diameter. They are made of dense foam covered in leather or vinyl. They have been used in boxing, kickboxing and martial arts training for ages.

  1- Why Should You Have Focus Mitts At Face Level?

To maintain the attention and body injuries it is very important to keep focus mitts at the level of the players’ face. The first and foremost important thing which one have to be consider, the focus mitts or pad must be at the height of the partner so that it could give a sound place to take action in some of the boxing drills. It is obvious to be tired during the drill but you have to hold the position to throw the perfect fits. On the other hand if starting upper cuts so it might be at the partners’ chin level but do not move then this position.

  2- Focus Mitts Must Be Sustain At Its Position

Once again it is very crucial position to hold on the focus mitts to maintain coming fits of your partner. Whatever the Padman does, the fighter will do as well. If it replace the body may be injured by wrong fits to reach the target. Here the trainer must be conscious to increase the stamina of the player.

  3- Pads Must Be Close Enough

The best mitt-holders will talk as little as possible. Here trainer need to keep good enough distance from the punches of the player because when the player continuously punching the pads, he should keep his body at the best place. Just make the gap in which you can see its move. If there is little bend of in the position it might be possible shoulder injury.

  4- Resistance is More Important for Focus Mitts

When you are receiving a long fits series, here your Mitts may be fly from the hand. So just need to resist it and keep on the position. In this way you could get better shoulder workout and save your face from flying pads hitting to you.

  5- Boost the Partners’ Energy

By exercising man get tired and want to leave, but just jumping and hitting the sloppy Mitts isn’t a routing exercise but it is an intellectually stimulating. Because Mitts’ work is very hard to do so there must be realistic fight training simulation for the player. To keep the natural rhythm of the player, trainer must provide energetic voices like Come On Boy, keep it on, Here we go. All these words’ sign will increase the energy of the player.
