banks can create their own blockchains but who will be mining those coins? themselves? ..so it will not be a decentralized currency but a currency that they will mine with their business partners
Best case for them, it may be semi-decentralized, which will be no match compared to Bitcoin and many other coins that exist today, and will continue to exist, forever. People who don't know any better will miss out, especially as the propaganda machine kicks into the mainstream media.
