SEC Action on ICO Securities Law + Merrill Lynch & Bitcoin Legitimacy

As Merrill Lynch plans a path for Bitcoin's global legitimacy, the SEC has issued an investigative report today that concludes that the Digital Asset "DAO ICO Tokens" were indeed Securities.

Additionally, the SEC concluded federal U.S. Securities Laws apply to anyone who "offers and sells" securities in the United States, regardless whether or not the issuing entity is a decentralized autonomous organization, and regardless whether those securities are purchased using U.S. dollars or Virtua lCurrency.

So what does this mean for ICO's & Initial Coin Offerings?
