Now I know you may have heard that you should all try to upvote at least 10 posts a day right? Do you know why that is?

It's actually very simple: Curation Rewards

Everytime you upvote something, you get a portion of the rewards. 25% to be exact. But before I elaborate any further on this, there is something very important you should know:

You only get 25% of your upvote's worth IF you upvote a post after 30 minutes!

Here's a basic breakdown:

• If you upvote a new post within 15 minutes (0-14 minutes) : You get 0.01% of the curation rewards and author gets 99.99%
• If you upvote a new post between 15 and 30 minutes, the curation rewards are split 50-50 between you and the author
• If you upvote a new post AFTER 30 minutes, you get 100% of the curation rewards!

That being said, we'll take a scenario into play. Let's assume your upvote is worth $1. If that is the case, then each time you upvote a post after 30 minutes, you will get $0.25 worth of Steem Power when that post is 7 days old whereas the author of that post who got upvoted will receive $0.75 worth of steem power and SBD split 50-50.

It is also a good idea to upvote posts that you know will get popular. That way you can maximize your returns for curation rewards on that post! If you upvote a post that is already very popular, you probably won't get as much of an ROI so keep that in mind as well!
